Bo Fischer Carlsen is the new Microsoft MVP in Copilot

To achieve MVP status, Bo has spent the last six months sharing his experience and expertise through blog posts, LinkedIn posts, and presentations at conferences and networking events. One of the presentations he is most proud of is his presentation at Computerworld's Cloud & AI Festival in September 2024, "Navigating the Sea of Copilots: From Chaos to Clarity." Here, he guided attendees in taking the first steps toward implementing Copilot in their organizations.

Bo has also written the popular blog post "Are We There Yet?" in which he reflects on how far we've come with generative AI and what's possible with the technology today. His approach is down-to-earth and pragmatic, and he insists that technology should serve users' needs, not the other way around.

Bo describes working with Copilot as an opportunity to experiment and explore new ways of working. "We can do so many fun, new things. It's about finding solutions that remove the mundane tasks and allow employees to focus on what they do best," he explains.

His commitment to Employee Experience has always been strong, and he sees Copilot as a catalyst for creating better job satisfaction and higher productivity. He believes technology can make the workday more efficient and creative for users.

The passion for AI and Copilot

According to Bo, we've only just begun the journey with generative AI. "We need to learn how to use the technology and figure out where it fits into our daily work," he says. He predicts that tools like Copilot will soon be so integrated into the workday that we only notice their importance when they don't work. In other words, he expects Copilot to become as natural a part of our workday as using the internet, emails and so on.

He also sees great opportunities in creating customized solutions adapted to specific industries and work processes. Knowledge-intensive industries, such as banking, and organizations with customer-facing functions will particularly benefit from Copilot's potential.
