Morten Zohnesen's interest in IT began as a child when he discovered the fascinating world of computers through computer games. This curiosity in IT led him first to an education as an IT engineer from DTU and later a master's degree as a game programmer. In the midst of the financial crisis in 2008, the market changed drastically, so Morten entered the traditional software world, where he has since built an impressive career.
He describes his role as Solution Provider at Delegate as one where his attention to detail and ability to understand the customer's business is crucial.
“My job is not just about designing technical solutions, but also about being the link between the customer's needs and the solutions Delegate develops. This requires a deep business understanding and the ability to translate complex requirements into something concrete,” says Morten Zohnesen.
After almost 18 years at the same company where Morten Zohnesen built a successful career, he began to miss working somewhere that not only focused on results, but also on the people behind them. He found this at Delegate.
“It's not just something that's written on a slide - here the management actually cares about their employees. In addition, Delegate values the quality of what we deliver and ensures that everyone develops professionally. It's a culture I really appreciate,” he says.
Morten Zohnesen is not only technically skilled; in his spare time he enjoys bouldering, playing computer games with friends and is a true master of designing sustainable homes. The family lives in one of Denmark's most climate-friendly houses, which Morten designed with his wife - complete with solar roof, home battery, geothermal heating, rainwater system, recirculating shower and an advanced smart home system. He describes it as both a hobby and a way of living his values.
“My smart home is a project I'm really proud of. It combines my interests in technology and sustainability in a way that makes everyday life easier and more environmentally friendly,” says Morten Zohnesen, who has also implemented unique features such as advanced alarm systems and personalized unicorn buttons that can make funny commands for his two daughters.
Morten describes himself as a leader who not only focuses on technical solutions, but also on developing the people he works with.
“I believe in meeting people where they are and helping them grow at their own pace. It's not just about code, but also about business acumen, communication and presentation,” he explains.
His approach to leadership is characterized by empathy as much as professionalism. For Morten, it's about creating a balance between the details and the big picture - both in technical solutions and in collaboration with colleagues.
When Morten looks back on his career choices, he has no doubt that the move to Delegate was the right one. “I want to work somewhere where both professionalism and humanity are in focus. I have found that here,” he concludes.
