New opportunities in the Netherlands

29 August 2022

BY PETER ØSTERGAARD, PARTNER, DELEGATE

Last week, we announced the opening of an independent office in the Netherlands, and I was personally in Amsterdam to meet our new Dutch team and to talk with some of the companies who we are already in the process of signing contracts with.

Through the past several years, Delegate has undergone an amazing development, and the office in Holland is a crucial piece in our continued growth. We are a part of Broad Horizon, and a large part of our sister companies are in the Netherlands. Therefore, it is quite natural that our first office outside of Denmark should be located right here.

Our presence in the Netherlands creates a lot of new, exciting opportunities for our colleagues as well as for our customers.

Through close cooperation with our Dutch sister companies, we can expand our business and offer our knowledge and expertise within Microsoft’s cloud platforms to existing customers in the Broad Horizon group. Each sister company is an expert in their own field, and last week it was also announced that Broad Horizon has bought another company – the Dutch Iquality – a company similar to Delegate in our Azure DevOps Services, and with whom we will work closely with in the future. As a unified group, we can offer even more services and even more value to our customers across national borders.

"Just as the expansion towards the Netherlands creates new possibilities for customer collaborations, it also creates an opportunity to attract new, highly qualified employees. Everyone in the IT industry knows that there is a battle for the brightest minds, and with an office beyond the Danish border we are expanding our recruitment basis and the opportunity to attract new delegaters to the family."

Just as the expansion towards the Netherlands creates new possibilities for customer collaborations, it also creates an opportunity to attract new, highly qualified employees. Everyone in the IT industry knows that there is a battle for the brightest minds, and with an office beyond the Danish border we are expanding our recruitment basis and the opportunity to attract new delegaters to the family.

In many ways we “simply” consider our new office in the Netherlands as a natural addition to our Danish offices in Aalborg, Aarhus and Virum. Delegate’s culture, values, focus on people, competencies, and the way of doing business must largely be the same, regardless of whether we are in Denmark or the Netherlands, and everyone should experience that the number of talented colleagues you can spar with has grown.

At Delegate we have a strong focus on our colleagues’ development in a strong professional community with continuous education and personal growth. This entails, among other things, that you as a delegater can try different things. With an office in the Netherlands, our Danish colleagues now have the opportunity not just to work with larger, international projects with Dutch customers, but also to work abroad as a part of his or her professional and personal development and at the same time gain an experience for life. I hope that many of our colleagues will see the advantages and make use of this opportunity.

But how do we set up a brand-new office in Amsterdam? It is easy. We just do as we always have – find the right people. Just like when our founder Thomas Quistgaard founded Delegate back in 2006, it is all about finding the right people. And we are lucky enough to already have the first colleagues ready in Amsterdam.

Overall, we therefore expect a very exciting time in the Netherlands - for the benefit of our colleagues as well as for our customers.
