Microsoft Partner Pledge

Microsoft has launched a Partner Pledge, encouraging their partner organizations to join efforts towards driving positive societal change in five critical areas: Digital Skills, Sustainability, Responsible and Ethical AI, Cybersecurity, and Diversity and Inclusion. By leveraging powerful, transformative technology and a shared commitment to customers, we can ensure that technology is adopted ethically and that it provides opportunities for customers and society as a whole.

You can read more about the Microsoft Partner Pledge here.

Below you can read more about initiatives that Delegate have taken in some of the key areas.

Digital Skills

Digital skills are essential for success in today's digital age. As technology continues to evolve, it is becoming increasingly important to develop and maintain strong digital skills and effectively navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape to be able to provide the best possible solutions for customers.

Responsible and Ethcial AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize many industries and improve our daily lives. Responsible and ethical use of AI is essential to ensure that this transformative technology is used for the benefit of society as a whole. This means carefully considering the potential impact of AI on bias, privacy, security, and social equity, and taking steps to ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that promotes fairness and respect for human values.

Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are essential elements in any industry, including IT. Diversity and inclusion are crucial to promoting innovation, creativity, and problem-solving. When teams are composed of individuals with different experiences and perspectives, they bring unique ideas and approaches to the table, leading to more robust solutions. Moreover, promoting diversity and inclusion in IT is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense. A diverse workforce can better understand and serve a diverse customer base, leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

At Delegate we are committed to making a digital difference. We deliver business-critical IT solutions to Danish companies and organizations based on Microsoft's cloud platforms, including Azure development, Business Applications (Dynamics 365), Modern Workplace (M365), and Power Platform. Delegate has in-depth knowledge of using the individual platforms but thrives on using the Microsoft platforms cross-functionally to untangle complex solutions so customers can do more with less.

We have a strong commitment to empower all our colleagues with the essential skills and training required to do their job. This goes out to our customers too as we strive to provide them with as much training as needed to get the most out of their Microsoft solution within their organization.

At Delegate, we are experts in using Azure for application development of mobile and web-based solutions. The in-depth knowledge of Azure combined with our experience with Microsoft’s other products enables us to design and implement quality solutions that achieve synergy between existing systems and Azure. We offer Azure consulting and a workshop to ensure that our customer’s businesses are successful with Microsoft Azure. The workshop covers all the considerations customers need to make before jumping into the cloud and culminates in a concrete report with recommendations for future use of Azure.

We have many years of experience with Business Applications, and we have developed a methodology for implementation, which ensures better coverage of actual business needs. The model helps us, and our customers, clarify business requirements, maturity, and the steps the organization and solution must go through to achieve the goals and value expected of Dynamics 365. Our methodology makes sure our customers experience a successful implementation, be this online, on-premises, or a migration to online. With more than 60 consultants in the field, we can ensure a stable and secure delivery. Delegate also has extensive experience in connecting Dynamics 365 with other applications such as Office 365, Artificial Intelligence, Power BI, Power Apps, ERP systems, and more.

With Modern Workplace we help businesses become more modern in their way of communicating and collaborating internally within the organization. We advise on the possibilities in the Microsoft 365 platform and help take advantage of the standard options in the platform for modern communication, document collaboration, and more. By taking advantage of the standard options in the Microsoft 365 platform, we can quickly create a prototype of a solution, giving us a common starting point for further discussion. This allows us to quickly reach a final solution and get a return on the project.

At Delegate we help our customers power up their Business ideas with the Power Platform. Together with Microsoft, we are pushing the Power Platform to the market as a strategic solution connecting people, processes, and data. Harvesting on our strategic Microsoft Power Platform focus and our two years in a row low code award, Delegate has positioned the platform as a strategic platform within several industries, most recently Manufacturing and Financial Service Industry markets.

Responsible and Ethcial AI

As a dedicated member of the European AI Alliance, Delegate has actively participated as an official stakeholder in the development of the Assessment List for Trustworthy AI. This early initiative paved the way for the forthcoming AI Act from the EU, further underlining Delegate's commitment to ensuring the trustworthy use of AI technologies.

Delegate's contribution to ethical AI use extends beyond policy. We have collaborated with The Danish Business Authority to develop a comprehensive toolbox for data ethics, aimed at machine learning engineers, aiding them in improving key areas like explainability, transparency, bias detection, and privacy preservation in their AI models.

Our philosophy champions the responsible use of AI, including improving transparency and explainability. Delegate’s AI experts, who have years of experience in AI projects, are cautious about resorting to "black box" AI models without first exploring models that offer better explainability and transparency.

Delegate also takes a proactive stance on bias, treating it as a crucial factor at every stage of data processing, from data selection to feature engineering. Our vigilance ensures a level of fairness in the AI models that's often overlooked in the industry. We also take great care to ensure the personal data we handle complies with GDPR regulations, emphasizing the importance of privacy in our operations and AI applications.

Understanding the immense potential of Generative AI, Delegate has embraced it as a key part of its operations. However, it is important to stress that Delegate's integration of this transformative technology is driven by a deeply responsible approach, one that hinges on deep knowledge and hands-on experience.

With tools such as ChatGPT Plus, we ensure that we not only understand the power and potential of generative AI but also its ethical implications. The practical training on ChatGPT and Generative AI provided to all our employees is a testament to our belief in responsible AI usage and its commitment to leading by example. It's not just about having access to sophisticated tools; it's about understanding how to harness these tools ethically and effectively.

Ultimately, Delegate's approach to Generative AI reflects our broader commitment to responsible AI. It is not enough for us to talk about ethical AI; we demonstrate it in our daily operations. Our hands-on use of tools like ChatGPT Plus ensures that we are at the forefront of ethical AI adoption, both for our own benefit and for the benefit of our clients. In this way, Delegate doesn’t just profess commitment to responsible AI – it embodies it in its practices.

Diversitet og Inklusion

Diversity and equality are value based for Delegate and something we must work on daily. In 2023 Delegate has started the work with DS 5001 – the Danish standard for Diversity and Equality. This year, we focus on getting more women in IT. We have created a series of portraits of women in Delegate who will act as role models for other women considering working in the IT industry.

Despite progress, women are still significantly underrepresented in Danish IT companies and IT educations, and without an active effort to get even more women into the industry, we will face a shortage of skilled workers in the future - more than we already do today. We also see this in Delegate, where only 19 percent of the consultants are women. That needs to change, and we are painfully aware of it.

From 2019 to 2022, the number of women enrolled in Danish IT education programs has increased by 13 percent, and in 2022, women make up 32 percent of those enrolled in the Danish IT education programs. Here, development is therefore going in the right direction, even if it is still going slow.

It looks different when we look at the number of female consultants. In the consulting industry in general, only 13.5 percent of the top leaders are women, while 36 percent of consultants are women. Furthermore, women leave the consulting industry more quickly.

There is a widespread misconception that the title of (IT) consultant can not be combined with family life – a perception that scares many women away before they even get the opportunity to learn more about the industry. The IT industry also has a reputation for having a distinctly male-dominated environment. While women are outnumbered, the image of a group of geeky nerds sitting in a dark basement coding could not be further from the truth. IT plays a critical role in the development of our society, and the tasks involve much more than just hardcore coding. Therefore, we need a broad range of skills and diversity among our employees.

At Delegate, we make a significant effort to create a working environment that provides the opportunity to balance work and family life. In fact, we don't refer to it as work-life balance, but rather life balance because all aspects of life should be in harmony. For example, we offer full flexibility to plan your day, so you can pick up your children early and work on your computer in the evening. We also offer the opportunity to work from anywhere.

However, the numbers speak for themselves, and at Delegate we have a lot of work to do to tell a different story to women in the IT industry than the one about endless overtime and lack of flexibility.
