The Year that Passed in Delegate 2022

BY PETER ØSTERGAARD, CO-CEO, DELEGATE

Last week, Mads Højborg and I had the pleasure of hosting Delegate's annual New Year's reception for our amazing colleagues, and for the first time, side by side as Co-CEOs. The New Year's reception was largely a "trip down memory lane" for the year that passed at Delegate 2022, and when I look back, it is with great satisfaction. Delegate is a unique place, and 2022 has been another good year for our business.

Microsoft Partner Award and Great Place To Work

The year was kicked off with the award of Microsoft Partner of the Year in the categories of Data & AI and Low Code Development among a strong field of nominated partners. This makes me incredibly proud - and not least because a month later, we won the award for Denmark's Best IT Workplace 2022 and Best Workplace for Women across the categories from Great Place to Work. The awards are a clear recognition of the fact that we are doing something right.

At Delegate, we have high and mutual expectations of each other, both professionally and personally, and we are driven by strong values that permeate the entire organization. We see each other as whole people who need to be in balance, and the well-being and development of our colleagues is crucial for us to continue to create successes for our customers. That is precisely why we prioritize a strong professional community with continuous education through further training in the form of courses and certifications, and in 2022, our skilled colleagues reached over 350+ Microsoft certifications.

"At the end of the day, we cannot deny that we are a business with a desire to run a healthy business. Despite war, inflation, and general geopolitical uncertainties, we can be extremely satisfied with our business results last year."

Co-CEO, Delegate

In August, Delegate moved beyond the borders and established its own office in the Netherlands. Delegate has undergone an exciting development in recent years, and the office in the Netherlands is a crucial piece in our continued growth journey. We are a part of Broad Horizon, and a large part of our sister companies are located in the Netherlands. Therefore, it was completely natural that our first office outside Denmark should be located here.

In 2022, Broad Horizon was also expanded with three new companies, Finnish Sulava and Dutch Iquality and 2Foqus, so that Broad Horizon today comprises 12 companies, each an expert in their own field. As a consolidated group, we can offer even more services and even greater value to our customers across borders, and it is my clear expectation that 2023 will bring even closer collaboration between sister companies.

Own office in the Netherlands and expansions in Broad Horizon

In 2022, we were also pleased to welcome 65 new colleagues, bringing our total number of employees to 200 Delegaters, and 215 colleagues spread across our four offices in Aalborg, Aarhus, Virum, and the Netherlands. We also celebrated 12 five-year anniversaries and four 10-year anniversaries, demonstrating our ability to attract both young and experienced employees and retain our colleagues at Delegate.

In order to ensure a continued great work environment, we have started to implement a new diversity and equality management standard, known as DS 5001. At Delegate, we aim to increase diversity in general and become more aware of our own biases, and having a common standard provides a great framework to work from. This will therefore be a major focus area in 2023.

Significant growth in number of employees and increased focus on diversity

At the end of the day, we cannot deny that we are a business with a desire to run a healthy business. Despite war, inflation, and general geopolitical uncertainties, we can be extremely satisfied with our business results last year. We have gained 30 new customers and our growth in both revenue and profit has increased by 30 percent - a successful year.

We are already well underway in 2023, which will undoubtedly bring more challenges than 2022. It can be expected that the world's growth will slow down a bit, but I am confident that 2023 will also be a good year. At Delegate, we have many exciting projects in sight, and it would not be possible without each and every one of our colleagues.
